Consent

Toothbrushing consent

Toothbrushing uses a passive consent model. Children participate in the Toothbrushing Programme unless their parent / guardian informs the nursery or school that they do not want them to take part.

Fluoride varnish consent

In target nurseries and schools, children are also offered further protection for their teeth in the form of fluoride varnishing, twice a year.

In this case, you will be asked to fill in a short consent form.

If your child has been hospitalised due to asthma or allergies, the fluoride varnish may not be applied.

You only need to sign this consent form once to enrol in the programme. After that we will contact you twice a year, when you will be given the opportunity to update your child’s medical history and other personal details.
