When should I begin to wean my child onto a cup and/or solid foods?

You can begin to use a cup and introduce solids when your baby:
- Can stay in a sitting position and hold their head steady.
- Begins to pick up food and puts it in their mouth.
- They can control their tongue so they are not pushing the food back out of their mouth.
Health experts recommend that at around six months old, most babies are ready for other foods in addition to pasteurised milk.
